More Than Hosts – We're Travelers Too
Traveling is one of life's greatest adventures.
It's about discovering new places, experiencing different cultures, meeting interesting people, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. But if you've traveled with a family, you'll also know that behind every beautiful holiday photo is a fair amount of planning, packing, driving, organizing... and sometimes, a little bit of chaos.
We know, because we've just experienced it ourselves.
Our family of five recently returned from an incredible three-week road trip across South Africa. My mother- and father-in-law joined us for much of the journey, making us a group of seven for a large part of the holiday.
During those three weeks, we traveled almost 6,000 kilometers, stayed in 10 different accommodations, explored some of South Africa's most beautiful destinations, and created memories we'll treasure forever.
It was an amazing holiday.
It was also exhausting at times.
Every travel day meant packing bags, loading the vehicle, checking that nothing had been left behind, driving for hours, arriving somewhere new, unpacking again, finding the nearest grocery store, figuring out Wi-Fi passwords, organizing meals, and making sure everyone had what they needed before doing it all again a few days later.
As accommodation owners ourselves, this journey gave us something even more valuable than wonderful memories—it reminded us exactly what our guests experience.

We found ourselves appreciating the hosts who had thought about the little details, because those details made traveling so much easier.
